Taking our Triplets on a Villa Pia Holiday: Michaela’s Story
We were delighted to welcome Michaela and Peter and their sweet trio of boys at the villa. They were the winners of a holiday giveaway we ran as part of our collaboration with the award-winning family rave network, Big Fish Little Fish.
Thanks to our relaxed atmosphere, child-friendly ethos and all-inclusive catering, Villa Pia is very well-suited to larger families and parents of twins and triplets. We invited Michaela to share her experience of taking her triplets on a Villa Pia holiday.
Q&A with Michaela, Mum of Triplets
Name and occupation
Michaela Lunter. I’m a full time mum. My husband Peter Lunter is an architect.
Where are you from?
We live in London.
How old are your children?
The triplets are now 2 years and 7 months old.
Was this your first time at Villa Pia?
Yes and hopefully not the last!
How did you hear about Villa Pia?
At a Big Fish Little Fish event.
What appealed to you about staying at the villa?
Everything!
What was it like travelling with triplets?
It wasn’t as difficult as expected, but we required a 3rd adult at the time of our travels due to airline ratio of 1 adult to 1 child (under 2 years old).
What were the highlights of your stay?
It was the most incredible place, which we would love to visit again. The main factor was the fact we could really relax as everything was catered for. There were lots of things for the kids to discover, and great food for kids and adults. Another great factor was the adults-only dinners with kids monitors at the table. This made a really nice change for me and my husband! The staff were hard working, very friendly and very helpful. The location is stunning, but you do not need to leave Villa Pia as everything you need is there and you will not get bored, for sure!
Anything you would change or improve?
We were very happy with everything and could not fault it. My only small suggestion is maybe to have an opportunity for at least one night to be able have a dinner only with your other half.
What were your most memorable times with the triplets on a Villa Pia holiday?
For us as a family, the whole trip was very memorable as it really gave us an opportunity to relax. The swimming pool was great as we could also practice and enjoy swimming with our boys. It is a big thing with triplets to be able to do all this!
How does Villa Pia compare with other family holidays you’ve experienced?
We have not experienced many family holidays yet, only in the winter, but that was a self-catering villa and we had to do all the work. So that was great as we stayed in the mountain, but it wasn’t really “relaxing”! Villa Pia was our first proper family holiday and everything was perfect. It would be very hard to find anything similar, especially if you prefer smaller hotels rather than a big resort.
Would you recommend Villa Pia to friends?
I will recommend it to everyone! Especially to families with multiples or families with more children.
Finally, any tips for new visitors?
Enjoy your stay to the full…
