5 Italian Food Bloggers to Follow
Do you read food blogs? There is some wonderful content out there, and some of the best Italian food blogs are crammed with gorgeous recipes and photos to inspire anyone to cook like a real Italian. Here are our favourite 5 Italian Food Bloggers to follow:
1. Emiko Davies
Half Australian, half Japanese Emiko’s blog is simply stunning: beautiful photographs, brimming with light and warmth. She writes delightfully about her husband Marco (see the post Squid Ink Pasta and the Man Behind it All) with whom she settled in Florence for 7 years and had a little girl. Emiko’s blog focuses on traditional Tuscan cooking, mixing age-old techniques with a creative slant to pull off some truly mouthwatering recipes. Look out for her cookbook out in April 2016 (Hardie Grant). www.emikodavies.com
Sara Rosso is passionate about Italy, travel and food and she’s combined them all in her wittily titled blog Ms Adventures in Italy (subtitle: My Stomach and the World). You’ll find dozens and dozens of recipes, some traditional, others simply out of this world, all sumptuous to look at. She also shares experiences like her Italian wedding feast, as well as tourist and foodie tips. Her guide
How to Order an Italian Coffee in Italy is now available as an e-book. www.msadventuresinitaly.com
Native Californian Judy Witts fell in love with Florence and a Florentine, trained locally as a chef, and founded Divina Cucina that offers cookery classes and foodie tours in the region. Her recipe index is filled with good, hearty Tuscan staples – we especially enjoy her Lost Recipes like this tasty looking Sedano Rifatto. Her blog is bursting with personality and you can order her cookbook Secrets from my Tuscan Kitchen via the web site. www.divinacucina.com
4. Rachel Eats
A Londoner living in Rome, Rachel is a brilliant storyteller who takes you on a journey with every recipe post. Whether she’s writing about “Memory stirring English style marmalade, made with Roman oranges, for a Sicilian” (A Bittersweet and Brillig Tale) or the pleasures of spinach soup, you can’t help but fall under her spell. Rachel has been blogging for many years and her blogroll alone is a feast for any food lover. Her cookbook Five Quarters: Recipes from a Roman Kitchen (Saltyard Books) will be out in the UK in June 2015 and also published in the US as My Kitchen in Rome: recipes and notes on Italian cooking (Grand Central), in early 2016.

Is there no end to this lady’s talents? She’s an actress (Van Helsing), a professional opera singer, and clearly gifted in the kitchen – with a cookbook titled after her blog, that’s available in stores and online. Italian born, Australian-based Silvia Colloca admits she has no kitchen training other than what she learned at her Mamma and Nonna’s knees. Her authentic Italian recipes are beautifully styled and shot, and cover everything from savouries and sides, to baked goodies. We can’t get enough of this blog! silviascucina.net
