We love welcoming travellers and their families from around the globe for a Villa Pia holiday. And we’re delighted that so many of our guests come back year after year. Here we catch up with Heidi, one of our regular visitors!

Can you tell us a little bit about who you are and what you do?

My name is Heidi, I am originally from Wales and I have lived in Switzerland for the last 20 years. I am married with 3 sons aged 18, 16 and 9. I love music and write songs. Love travelling too!

How long have you been holidaying at Villa Pia?

I have been visiting Villa Pia with my family for 15 years now; we have been 7 or 8 times!

What do you find special about this place?

It has a special, unique ambience. It is relaxing for families: if the kids are happy then the parents are, too!

How did you discover Villa Pia?

I discovered it searching on the Web, years ago.

What is your favourite time of year to visit?

Our favourite time to visit is during the Swiss school holidays. They are different to the UK hols, which means we can usually get in! We have been many times in April. It is not too hot, but generally the pools are open and not too busy. Also it is off-peak, so a lot cheaper for a family of 5.

Do you have kids and if so, what do they enjoy about Villa Pia?

Our kids love playing with other kids they meet at Villa Pia. We usually meet other families (friends of ours), the kids love this too. They love the pool and the trampoline. Our older boys enjoy the tennis and table-tennis.

Any dislikes? (be honest, we can take it!)

Dislikes: hard to find any. Sometimes the big long table for the meals can be a bit tricky, it would be nice if for a couple of nights there were separate tables!

What is the best thing on the Villa Pia menu?

Menu: love it all, it is all freshly cooked.

What things do you like doing outside the villa?

We love to visit the surrounding towns. We love Arezzo, Siena, Montepulciano (for wine!), Perugia, Asissi, Sansepulcro. Have walked/cycled up to Tiberina.

Lippiano region

Who do you think Villa Pia is best suited for?

Villa Pia is best suited for families with young children together with their relatives, eg grandparents.

If there was one thing you could change or add…?

One thing I would change – maybe a few more things for the older kids? Then I could maybe persuade our two teenagers to keep visiting with us!!

What will be your best or most entertaining memories of Villa Pia?

Memories: Swimming in the pool with the wonderful views over the countryside; have met wonderful families there that are good friends now; the warm fire on a Spring evening; beautiful walks around Lippiano; fun and laughter over the years!
