Meet the Villa Pia Family: Gessy
Continuing our popular series on the blog, we introduce you to the ‘Villa Pia family’ — the amazing team that helps make your holiday in Italy so special. We asked the staff questions** about work and what they do in their spare time. We hope you, our readers, enjoy these interviews as much as we do.
In today’s edition, we have a chat with one of the ladies of the kitchen!
How long have you worked at Villa Pia?
What do you like most about working at the villa?
Cooking. I don’t like gardening!
Anything you would change?
The kitchen needs to be bigger. It would be nice for the cooking class. I like cooking but at the end of the season it’s tiring.
What are your fondest or funniest memories of working here?
Some relaxing moments with the other cooks last year, after we’d worked from morning till evening. We went down and played on the trampoline and slides!
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at Villa Pia?
I like ‘standard’ dancing (ballroom), listening to music, playing guitar and going on cooking courses.
Describe Villa Pia in 3 words.
Hard work, funny, enjoyable to work here because it’s not like a big hotel.
