Eurochocolate Comes to Umbria + Win a Chocolate Gift Box!

Eurochocolate chocolate demonstrations

While men around the world grow out their facial hair for the Movember charity campaign, here in Umbria this October they will be twirling (and swirling) moustaches of a different kind.

‘Eat Your Mustache’ aka #MustaChoc is the 2015 slogan for the Eurochocolate Festival, launching today (October 16) until October 25 in our local town of Perugia.

Eurochocolate 2016 is the 22nd edition of the international chocolate festival that draws close to one million Italians and tourists to the region annually.

This is an absolutely mouthwatering event that simply has to be experienced in person. From all over Umbria and beyond, visitors come to check out the artisanal stores and carts stocking delicious chocolate in any flavour you can think of — mint, vanilla, cherry, coconut, orange, liqueurs and more exotic varieties!

Be sure to get there on the first Sunday of the festival, when artists will be creating sculptures out of chocolate and if you stand close enough, you might just score a (chocolate) chip off the old block.

Along with chocolate making demonstrations, expert talks, tastings, competitions and street performances, you can expect to see fun chocolate toys, gadgets and novelty items from Eurochocolate’s new products line, MustaChoc. There will also be a Guinness World Record attempt at creating the biggest chocolate moustache sculpture ever built!

Throughout the festival — at any time of year — you can take a tour of the Perugina Chocolate Factory and discover more about the famous chocolate, Bacio Perugina. Or why not book a class at the Perugina School of Chocolate and learn how to make some delicious treats to take home.

Of course, we love chocolate here at Villa Pia and our chefs delight in making chocolate goodies with the kids in our popular cookery classes. Spoon licking is always on the menu!

Take a look at this fun video we found of a previous Eurochocolate Festival. Don’t you just want to climb inside the chocolate igloo?
