Easy Italian Recipe for Panna Cotta
The best things in life are often the simplest and there are few desserts as simple and satisfying as panna cotta. Fresh cream, sugar and gelatine combine to make a little slice of heaven.
We enjoy ours plain although the kids love chocolate panna cotta. You can also dress it up with wild berries, dessert sauce, or a fruit coulis.
Why not try our Easy Italian Recipe for Panna Cotta, another popular dish from the Villa Pia kitchen. It’s a quick dinner party staple that’s sure to impress your guests!
Panna Cotta Recipe
Ingredients: ½ fresh cream
3 dessert spoons of sugar
3 sheets of gelatine
Dissolve the gelatine in warm water and throw away the residual water. Put the cream and the sugar in a pan and bring to the boil, add the dissolved gelatine and mix together and remove from the heat. Pour the mixture into a mould and leave in the fridge to solidify.
Buon appetito!

This really does look easy to make! Thank you for the great recipe.
Can I just ask though what do you mean by 1/2 cream? Do you mean 1/2 a pot of cream?
Thanks Sonia, glad you like the recipe, it’s straight from our chefs. That would be 1/2 a cup of cream for this particular recipe although I know quantities can vary. Let us know if you make it!
Cor, I LOVE panna cotta! I feel a bit stupid now not realising how few ingredients went in to this- I must try it sometime as it always seems really impressive- thanks for the recipe!#tastytuesdays
It’s deliciously simple Becky, and you can certainly spice it up with more ingredients but these are the basics!
This sounds awesome and really simple, definitely going to give it a whirl 🙂 #tastytuesdays
